Using Templates with HTML to build your website
What are templates?
HTML templates are skeletal HTML pages with the main content left out. That way, you can quickly create a series of pages with an identical look or navigational structure but different content. There are many ways to get a template that works for you:
- There are many companies offering templates that you can use.
- You can hire a web designer to create a custom template for you.
- You can create a template yourself.
Do it myself?
Yes. There are hundreds of books, online tutorials and training guides. Good ones will have you coding your first page within a week, if not sooner.
There are many websites that offer tutorials on html. The best interactive tutorial on html (which is free) is w3schools.com. Their site does a great job of explaining html coding and offers interactive examples that you can use.
We offer hands-on tutoring in either a classroom setting or at your location.
Hire a professional?
Some folks do prefer to have their website coded by a designer. However, since you are reading this section, you have thought about doing it yourself.
Do without it?
I think you know the answer to that!
